A viking warrior’s violent death during a raid turns him into a draugr. At the same moment, he’s dually cursed by his killer, a foreign concubine he slayed during the same moment. Now laden with a strange burden from a faraway land, his mere presence as a haunted creature triggers an unraveling of world mythologies.

Turmoil arrives for the draugr’s Norse gods, and Odin discovers in the confusion that a usurper has stolen his seat at the head of the Wild Hunt. The usurper continues wreaking havoc throughout the world and with other mythologies. Powerless to stop the thief behind the veil of divine limitations, the Allfather tasks the shamed draugr to hunt down the usurper and restore order before all is lost.
